August Driving Event
Have you ever been to Moscow? Probably not, right? Well, now is your chance. It’s not in Russia, but it’s a Moscow we can reach by driving our Classics. A drive through Moscow will be a small part of our trip South of Indianapolis on Saturday, August 17. You will want to drive through a wonderful covered bridge there that was washed away
in a flood a few years back, but was rebuilt exactly as it was before the storm.
We will meet at 1:00 pm at Love’s Truck Stop which is at Exit 123 south of Indy on I-74. Our first tour stop will be just a short drive away at the home of Gladys Pike. Gladys has a compound of log cabins in a beautiful shady setting. The cabins are filled with antiques to enjoy and Gladys is a delightful lady who will tell us about what we see.
Our next stop will be at the home of Joe and Eleanor Columbe which is near Moscow. As you may remember Joe had a great event planned there for June which was rained out. This will not be the same extravaganza Joe planned for earlier. He plans to do that next year. Joe and Eleanor have some interesting non-Classics and a beautiful
setting which we will enjoy.
When we leave Columbe’s we will drive to Greenfield where we will
dine at Carnegie’s Restaurant which is in a former Carnegie Library. If
you aren’t hungry they have some books you can read.
This will be a great time to drive your Classic. Think about that now. If you don’t think it’s ready, get it ready now! These old cars have to be driven regularly to be in top shape.
Please call me at 812-593-2701 or email me at larry@agpro.net by August 12 if you plan to attend.
Get that Classic ready!
