The Indiana Medical History Museum is located on the grounds of the former Central State Hospital on the near west side of Indianapolis. The heart of the museum is the Old Pathology Building, the oldest surviving pathology facility in the nation. Explore the teaching amphitheater, laboratories, photography, as well as the autopsy room and anatomical museum which houses preserved specimens–mostly brains.

In the late ’30s and early ’40s, the property was home to the Boyle Racing Team and three-time Indy 500 winner Wilbur Shaw. The Boyle Racing Shop pays tribute to this history and features memorabilia from the Boyle Racing Team, including rebuilt race cars, historic photographs and other items that represent the legacy of the Boyle Racing Team.
